I have been involved in agility since 1990 and own and operate CDogRunAgility.
I believe in creating a great relationship with your canine companion by taking the time to build a strong foundation, teaching attention and focus, socialization, reliable obedience, handling, independent obstacle performance, jumping skills with extension and collection, and being consistent in what you expect and except.
One of greatest achievements in agility is my consistency as a handler. My excellent Q rate has ranked me the only handler in the history of the United States Dog Agility Association to have 6 Platinum Lifetime Achievement Awards. They were earned in 4 different jump heights, Penelopy 12”, Reno 16”, Jasper, Eve and Rumble 22”, and Zig Zag 26”. My dogs have been in the USDAA Top 10 for many years. Nationally ranked, I have been a Finalist 18 times in 4 different heights, Rumble placed 7th in 2009 and was a finalist in 2010, 2011 and 2012. I have been a finalist in the Steeplechase 4 times with 2 different dogs. The sport of agility has many components and one of my strengths is recognizing how important the mental game is and what it takes to excel in this sport. I have over my career earned over 470 agility titles on my dogs including 12 ADCH’s, numerous Lifetime Achievement Awards, 9 Bronze, 7 Silver, 6 Gold, and 6 platinum’s. Several dogs have earned their ADCH’s in one year.
Internationally, I was chosen to represent the USA in 2002 on the IFCS World Team with my Jack Russell, Reno earning an Individual Bronze medal, and Gold for the team. My border collie, Rumble, competed on the USA Team in England at the World Agility Open Championships in May of 2011 winning the snooker and gambler classes earning Gold and the World Agility Open Games Championship. Again in May of 2012 Rumble and I competed on the IFCS World Team USA in Texas earning 4 medals, Bronze in Individual snooker, Silver in the biathlon, Gold in Team Triathlon, and Gold in Individual Agility. The following week we traveled to Belgium to compete at the World Agility Open Championships where Rumble and I won the gambler class. In 2013 Rumble and I were selected for the World Agility Open Championships Team USA in Oviedo, Spain but were unable to attend due to a knee injury. In 2014 Rumble and I were selected to represent the USA at the IFCS Championships in Amsterdam and the WAO Championships in Italy. What a wonderful experience winning Gold for Team Pentathlon. In 2015 Rumble and I again represented Team USA in Amsterdam earning a Silver medal in Team Pentathlon. In 2016 Rumble and I represented the USA in Amsterdam for the IFCS Championships placing 4th in snooker and 6th in jumpers. We were also alternates for the World Agility Open Championships in England . Rumble is retired from International competition because she is now eleven years young. I have been blessed with a wonderful companion and what a ride we had on this journey.
I love competing with my dogs and have learned so much from them. I welcome new knowledge to the sport with a open mind, always gaining more knowledge of the sport, and willingly sharing that information. My greatest joy comes from helping people “get it” and “those light bulb moments.” I thoroughly enjoy my fellow competitors asking me for Snooker and Gamblers advice as well as how to handle before and during the course walk through. I enjoy helping competitors create a plan they can execute and have a great outcome with. I also understand the relationship that behavioral and obedience problems have in day to day life and the agility ring and have been very successful in helping teams overcome these issues leading to their teamwork success.
I enjoy working with a full spectrum of students, whether you trial every weekend, or are just getting started. I have the patience and the ability to assess each dog and handler team to customize a plan to suit your needs.
My students have achieved great success including MACHs, AKC Invitationals, ADCHs, LAAs, USDAA World Finalist, and a 2011 World Agility Open double Silver medalist and 2012 WAO Team member. I offer group classes at my training facility, in house training and private lessons, house calls, on line lessons, and seminars in agility and obedience.
